Yes. Tiles are almost impossible to crack when installed correctly. They can last for decades.

Make sure to choose the right type for your installation

You'll see an extensive selection in the tile store, but remember that not every ceramic will work for every installation. They all have different strength and absorption levels.

The Porcelain and Enamel Institute has developed a one-to-five rating system; as the numbers increase, so does the strength. For moderate or heavy foot traffic indoors or out, choose a C-3 or C-4 tile.

Read labels carefully. Also, describe your remodeling project to the retailer at the tile shop.

Porcelain for heavily trafficked floors

Porcelain is heavy and denser, with a great water absorption rate. As a result, it is ideal for heavily trafficked areas, both indoors and out.

Porcelain comes in countless colors and designs. It looks like anything, including wood, stone, fabric, and leather.
This is a through-body floor tile. As a result, scratches are well-hidden.

Other floor tile options include:

The 4 X 4 ceramic squares are highly designed and often glazed; they are best for moderately busy indoor rooms.
Mosaics, the tiny, often glass-coated squares, are now trending for bathroom floors. Terracotta bricks are highly durable and can be used indoors or out.

Terracotta works well as a rustic floor tile because of its gorgeous reddish-brown color. In addition, subway tiles are appropriate for indoor low-traffic areas.
